Behaviour & Safety Guidelines

Our goal is to make SplashFest a joyful and safe space for all families.

- Children must always be accompanied by an adult.
- Volunteers and staff are there to help, so please follow their guidance.
- First-aid and lost-child points will be marked at each site.
- If you need assistance, ask any team member wearing a Bubble Buddies Staff Badge.

Together, we’ll make the ocean and the festival a place of respect, discovery and fun!

Code of Conduct

At Bubble Buddies Bay SplashFest! learning and playing together works best when kindness leads the way.
Our simple Code of Conduct helps everyone make the festival a joyful and respectful experience for all.

Kindness and Respect

All participants and hosts should treat one another with courtesy, respect and patience.
Celebrate differences, listen to others, and remember that every smile makes the wave stronger.

- Use sustainable, eco-friendly materials whenever possible.
- Help keep the festival clean and promote recycling and repurposing in all activities.
- Avoid single use plastic.

Fair Play

- No bullying or exclusion of any kind.
- Share the spotlight and encourage everyone to take part and have their moment to shine.
- Cheer for your friends and celebrate every small success!

Inclusivity and Accessibility

At Bubble Buddies Bay SplashFest!, everyone is welcome because the ocean belongs to us all. We want every child and family to feel comfortable, safe and included.

- Festival spaces are chosen to be wheelchair friendly whenever possible.
- Activities will include when possible visual, tactile and audio elements so that children of all abilities can take part.
-Our team and volunteers are happy to assist with access needs, so let us know when you arrive or when booking.
- Printed materials use clear fonts and high contrast colours for better readability.
- Quiet zones will be arranged whenever possible for children who need a calm moment during the day.
- If you or your child need any specific support, please mention it when booking your place.

Together, we’ll make sure your SplashFest! experience is smooth and full of joy.

What to Bring

Comfortable outfit: Marine colours (blue, turquoise, coral or white) are welcome!
If you want to dress like your favourite marine creature, even better: just one fun detail is enough to join the ocean spirit!
Blanket or cushion to sit on the grass or floor during films and readings.

Refillable water bottles and recyclable lunch packs: Let’s keep our bays and beaches clean by creating as little waste as possible!

Hats and sunscreen: Yes, even in the UK and Germany! The sun is stronger (because of climate change) than it used to be, and we all want to stay safe while having fun.

A big smile and a sense of curiosity!

Filming and Photography

Bubble Buddies Bay SplashFest! will be filmed and photographed for educational and promotional purposes. By attending, you agree that you and your children may appear in general crowd or activity footage. If you prefer not to be filmed, please let one of our volunteers know at registration: we’ll give you a special NO MEDIA badge so our media team can respect your choice.

Ocean Guardians

Every participating child receives an Ocean Guardian Certificate, recognising their curiosity, creativity and care for the sea. It’s their first step toward protecting our blue planet!
