Lots to read, but it’s important and we’ll try to make it fun!
The ocean is a giant treasure chest of creatures and secrets. Science helps us find them! Scientists are explorers with special tools. We have teamed up with HCMR ocean experts to help you discover the amazing life under the waves.
There are many organisations around the world where people come together to make a difference! Some are big and international, like the United Nations, while others are smaller and local, like groups that clean up beaches or help animals in need. Every action, whether big or small, is important and can make a difference!
For example, imagine if most of the people turned off the water while brushing their teeth and only turned it back on to rinse their mouth. It would save a huge amount of water! That's why it's important to remember to do this yourself and to encourage your friends and family to do the same. Every little bit helps.
We’re lucky to live on an amazing planet. Sometimes people feel mad or sad and don’t act their best, but fortunately most are kind and want to help. When there’s a problem, work together and ask a grown-up for help, like a big sibling or a parent, to make peace.
Countries too disagree sometimes. That’s why grown-ups made the United Nations, a big club where almost all countries meet to talk and solve problems peacefully. Like when your class argues and a teacher helps everyone play together again
Sometimes famines, floods or earthquakes happen, and people need help, like you need a hug when you’re sick. The United Nations and other groups bring food, water, medicine, and helpers to those in trouble.
These organisations also protect our planet. They want clean air and water for everyone and a healthy Earth for the future, like caring for a pet: keep it clean, fed, and in a cosy home so it stays happy.
